Sometimes being restricted can force us to be more creative. There are dozens of old vehicles on view on the grounds of the Gold King Ghost Town, but this particular truck was in a fenced-off yard, so I could only see it from one angle, and only from a distance. My eye was drawn to the contrasting hood and grille; a telephoto lens isolated those components and created this colorful composition.
Gold King Mine & Ghost Town is located at Jerome, Arizona. The signed turnoff is next to the fire station in downtown Jerome; follow the graded dirt road for one mile to the site. A modest admission fee is charged.
