While scrambling up a beautifully-textured sandstone canyon in a remote area near the Arizona-Utah Border, I suddenly came upon this big old cat taking an afternoon nap. Trembling, I raised my camera and took this picture, then cautiously retreated. I realized that I was the trespasser here, and keenly felt the danger of a cornered wild animal. Fortunately, the bobcat never did more than raise its head and stare at me; I think my intrusion was forgiven.
